Lozells Methodist Community Centre is linked to but also separate from Lozells Methodist Church, and aims to meet the needs of all members of its very diverse local community. A number of organisations hire office or education space: Birmingham Ethnic Education Advisory Service (English Language classes from Entry Level 1 to 3), Common Unity Mental Health CIC, Mashriq Challenge Women’s Mental Health Group, Handsworth Carers Group, ILM Nursery; and a range of others hire space for specific times or events, including different church groups and children’s centres. Alongside this activity LMCC develops community links in order to plan and provide appropriate provision: a Job Club, a soup kitchen, sewing classes, wellbeing classes, holiday playschemes – developing volunteering as part of this.
