Reflex exists to empower children, young people and young adult to break the cycle of offending and re-offending through holistic transformation. Working with juvenile, young and young adult offenders serving a custodial sentence and resourcing practitioners working with 'at-risk' youth in the community through training and programmes, Reflex are passionate about seeing lives transformed and hope restored through their highly relational, creative and innovative engagement. Engaging young people across the five key areas of development (personal, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual), Reflex believe that every young person has worth, value and the God-given potential to change and have a positive impact on their world.
Reflex work in 14 prisons across England, including HMP Oakwood in Wolverhampton, through a network of Christian Outreach Workers delivering Outreach and Mentoring, non-formal education programmes and Chaplaincy Support. Where possible, we also seek to link prison leavers with appropriate churches (including those across Birmingham and the West Midlands) who can provide ongoing relational support, friendship and accountability.
Reflex also offer accredited resources and training (in Halesowen) for community based practitioners working with 'at risk' young people. Our myLife resource is a suite of Character Development and Life Skills courses designed for both 1:1 or small group delivery, which can result in an OCR, ASDAN or internal accreditation. Our training programmes run from our Halesowen Office include programme tutor training and working with Challenging Behaviours training.
